Argentina

I am having a lot of fun in Argentina and learning so much! It amazes me how a producer could be so effected by what is done by the govt. Export taxes are very high and for some makes it hard to make a profit. We saw a lot of grain from last year stored in silage bags. There is the hope that when the prices go up they will be able to sell. It is the driest its been in 70 years. There is the thought that if the crop is lost they can use the seed from last year to plant again when there is rain.

We have seen some really interesting farms and met a lot of great people. Many will be contacts for a long time which will be great to get their point of view as to what is going on with the weather.

Speaking of...wasn't going to rub it in since it's so cold at home, but on Wednesday it was 95 and we got to spend the evening by the pool at the farm we were staying at. Should I mention I now have tan lines from my bathing suit? Okay I won't.

Well its 2:04 am and I should head to bed. Bus leaves at 8:30 for a trip to a soybean crushing facility.

Hello, as I type this I am getting ready to leave on a business trip with the Nebraska Soybean Board. We are headed first to Argentina and then to Chile. It should be a fun and educational trip! I hope to be able to blog while there depending on our internet availablities.

Pictures from your childhood

As you can tell...pictures from your childhood can and will come back to find you someday. HA HA. Actually you my laugh at all our haircuts but the Dorthoy Hamilton look was SO in at that time...I had to laugh the first picture both Grandma Morrison and I have our eyes closed. We must have wanted to keep that moment in our memory for ever. Grandpa Morrison is who Paul was named after. I have SO many memories of spending time with them and my cousins. By the way...NICE DRESS Kathy:P

Christmas Day

If anyone heard me on the air Wednesday must have thought, "girl go home and get some rest!" I tried to do that...but Ewe number 0001 decided to have her lamb, which made me miss church and THEN she didn't lamb till after 9 anyways. With a bit of help from me she had a 15# ram lamb. He looks 2 weeks old. Needless to say it was a nice Christmas present.

Christmas Day was spent doing stuff for me. I slept and Lilly (the dog) was happy because she got the foot of the bed and Tigger (the cat) got Mike's pillow! I went last night to Dave and Sonya's for an OUTSTANDING steak fry! It was a lot of fun and thanks again for inviting me.

A friend of mine sent me this picture and I felt the need to share it with you. Though today it got to 54 I just love this picture. It's from a Christmas card in the UK. Would love to have that picture as a print for Mike.

Well I am on the air on KZ-100. Better head back to the studio. This weekend, since the kids are not home...I am cleaning-including going through dresser's and pulling out small clothes.
